The Clearwater Management Council (CMC) is a cooperative partnership representing Clearwater, Idaho, Latah, Lewis, and Nez Perce counties, along with state, tribal, and federal agencies dedicated to protecting and managing the Clearwater River corridor.

The Clearwater Management Council was established through a cooperative agreement in April 1992 between five counties to support shared management of the Clearwater River corridor.
In 1993, a formal cooperative management agreement was signed between county commissioners and multiple agencies, including state and federal partners, to coordinate long-term management of the river from Kooskia to its confluence with the Snake River.
